For a major renovation of one of the server rooms at Glaxo Smith Kline in the Belgian Rixensart, GSK has sought collaboration with Alteco Europe for the replacement of the computer floor. During the entire renovation the critical computer room remained fully operational.
The computer floor in the server room was 15 years old and no longer met the requirements, due to the increasingly heavier server racks. Chris Buyzen (Computer Rooms Floor Manager) and his team wanted to renovate the server room in phases because there is a huge amount of critical equipment that thousands of employees are dependent on within GSK.
This precarious process is fully entrusted to Alteco Europe. During the entire operation the server room remained operational. Alteco has replaced the ‘traditional’ computer floor for the IV 1260.
